One of the best parts of being involved with fandom is the experiences. You get to do all these things you might not have been able to do before. I, for instances, have traveled all over the United States visiting people and attending cons. And people I've never even met before have crashed at my house after near by events. (Good fangirl karma, yo!)
But sometimes the quest for experiences stretches the bounds of what you'd normally do. So, in the spirit of fun, I want to know...what's the craziest thing you've ever done because of fandom?
Two examples that come to my own mind:
I convinced the company I was working for at the time to send me to Phoenix, Arizona (and pay for the entire trip) -- so I could be there for the very first screening of Ten Inch Hero.
I once stood outside in 30 degree weather and no coat in order to see a band I didn't even like, just so I could spend time with fangirls, only one of whom I knew previously.
OK, now it's your turn. What's the craziest/silliest/most ingenious/best/etc. thing you've ever done because of fandom?
